or multi-county) Air Pollution Control Districts or regional Air Quality
Management Districts regulate stationary sources like power plants, and
depending on an area's federal attainment status they regulate the following
pollution sources in their areas:
• indirect sources that attract cars and trucks like sports facilities
and shopping centers
• area-wide sources in residential areas like fireplaces (San Joaquin
Valley only), water heaters and gas furnaces, that when combined contribute
